Supported learning for non-Chinese speaking students


Context:
A associated teacher will provide learning support to non-Chinese speaking child and communicate with each family:

  1. Having a close communication with parents :
    Aim to know more about children's learning difficulties by calling their parents before or after school. Or Tel No:2216 4106 or email: gracefield@biznetvigator.com communicate with the school.
  2. Helping children to adapt in class:
    To understand the requirement of class teacher and to participate in class.
  3. Helping the Chinese learning through life-experiences:
    To give assistance in their Chinese learning (including listening, speaking, writing and reading).
  4. K3 Chinese homework will be adjusted to meet their level.
  5. Providing individual assistance in class:
    Associated teacher will provide individual help for each non-Chinese speaking child with different level.
  6. Providing English notices to parents.
  7. Having a non-Chinese speaking janitor who can communicates and translates for parents and children when necessary.
  8. Having different activities to get to know the community and integrate into the community:
    1. Visiting: To visit post office, supermarket and have afternoon tea in a local restaurant.
    2. 'Non-Chinese Cultures Day'
      - Food sharing: To invite non-Chinese speaking parents to prepare some hometown snacks and share with local children.
      - Fashion show: To invite non-Chinese speaking children to wear their traditional clothes and talk about their culture.
    3. 'Non-Chinese speaking learning result day': Children will show their learning outcome on that day.
